31st ANNUAL NATIONAL CONVENTION AND 3E XPO
2006: A Specialized
Electrical,
Electronics and Energy Exposition
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to enjoin your active participation to ensure
the success of the 31sth IIEE Annual National Convention
(ANC) and 3E XPO 2006: A Specialized
Electrical, Electronics and Energy Exposition. These
events will take place on 24-28 October 2006 at the Philippine
International Convention Center in Pasay City. This year’s
theme is “Moving Forward Amidst
National and Global Challenges”.
Attached (Annex A) is the draft convention
circular, for your ready reference. Each IIEE
member will also be sent a copy of this circular, along with their
election ballots.
Specifically, we are enjoining you to support the 31st ANC and
3E XPO through the following:
1. ANNOUNCEMENT. Please announce
this event not only to the IIEE members but also to the organizations
within your territorial jurisdiction that employ electrical
practitioners (e.g. schools, local government units (LGUs),
manufacturing industry, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, commercial
establishments, distribution utilities, electric cooperatives, etc.).
You may photocopy/distribute the enclosed documents for them.
2. PARTICIPATION IN THE CONVENTION AND
EXPOSITION ACTIVITIES. In order to encourage the
participation of more electrical practitioners and allied technology
practitioners to the 31st ANC, you will notice that, for the first
time, we are accepting delegates to register only on a per session. We
have also restructured the technical sessions/product presentations
such that:
(i) there are separate sessions that will cater to the
specific needs of practitioners working in distribution utilities and
electric cooperatives,in the industry, in the design and contracting
field, in the academe, and the LGUs and of electricians, and (ii) each
session is composed of two (2) technical topics and one (1) related
product presentation.
Delegates can therefore pick and choose the session/s they
want to participate in and pay only for that/those session/s
3. PROXY VOTES. To fast-track
the ratification of the proposed amendments to the IIEE Constitution
and By-laws, which was presented to the membership during the Business
Meeting last November 2004, the Board of Governors decided to resort to
a proxy voting.
All chapter officers are enjoined to help collect the signed
proxy votes of your respective members. The highlights and the full
text of the Proposed Amendments to the IIEE Constitution and By-laws,
and the proxy form can be downloaded at http://national.iiee.org.ph/article/articleview/146/1/66/.
Copy is attached hereto (Annex B).
Please note that members submitting their proxy votes are
entitled to an IIEE mug. So please forward the signed proxy votes to
the IIEE National Office and inform us the most cost-efficient way to
send the mugs to you.
